About us
Playdough Academy has been serving the children in our community and their families for almost 18 years. Our very first babies just graduated high school! In that time we've gained a lot of physical experience, formal training and a deep understanding of children and their development. Throughout this time, we've refined our craft and continue to evolve, in order to provide the best quality of care to our families. We pride ourselves on the level of trust and communication we build with our families- and we say OUR families, because they do in fact become family in their time with us. No matter how long or how short a time we have with the children in our care, we strive to leave an imprint in their lives, as big as the one they leave in our hearts. Our job carries the biggest responsibility and we take it very seriously, as we are nurturing and preparing the little people who will someday lead the world!
It all sounds great on paper, but who makes all the magic happen?
Ms. Nicky (right) started the dream, so we could be home with our own children. In 2008, She made Playdough Academy into a blueprint for a beautiful concept we wanted to bring to life. Admittedly, she didn't think it would grow and become the wonderful place it is today, a place children love to come to and don't want to leave at the end of the day. We've worked very hard to be a home of love, nurture and trust- a place families will remember forever. Ms. Nicky ensures that all the behind the scenes stuff is tip-top and Playdough is always at its best. She's the preschool teacher and director.
Ms. Julie joined later, when Playdough grew even more. She is the amazing chef, Spanish teacher, and baby whisperer/infant teacher. She brings lots of patience and love to the table, and children love her funniness and sense of humor. She is detail oriented and ensures that children are always clean and fed, just like a grandma. She can get any baby to sleep, no matter how fussy!
Ms. Nicky and Ms. Julie have four children of their own and two rambunctious dogs. They have lived in Florida for 20 years and although they love everything about living here, hurricanes are the only exception! They enjoy traveling the world, doing outdoorsy family stuff, like the beach and adventure parks, but also love air conditioned activities just the same!

July 3
Summer Party
Families spend time together celebrating the arrival of
summer! Food, refreshments and treats are served. Water bounce house!
September 5
Grandparents Breakfast
Grandparents visit at drop-off to have breakfast withe their grandkids. Photo mementos.
October 30
Halloween Party
Children and their families dress up to enjoy an evening of spooky fun, play games and paint pumpkins. Refreshments, food and the only day of the year Playdough serves candy!
November 26
Friendsgiving Dinner
Families come together to enjoy dinner. Everyone brings a dish. Children play with their families.
December 19
Christmas Celebration
Parents and children visit with Santa at daycare.
Families enjoy brunch together. Children are free to leave early for Christmas break.
