Infants
0 – 18 months
Infants master physical milestones like sitting, crawling, and early walking. They begin language development with cooing, babbling, and simple sounds like “ma-ma.” They also form bonds of love and trust with parents and caregivers, while responding to social cues and recognizing familiar faces.
At daycare we Limit time in strollers, swings, or bouncy seats to encourage infants to move. Tummy time on a soft mat to build neck and core strength, motivators to encourage crawling, standing and walking. We create a safe, nurturing, and responsive environment where infants can explore. Family child care offers a cozy, home-like setting, to help babies transition from the comfort of home.
Toddlers
18 months – 3 years
By this age, toddlers become more mobile and aware of their surroundings. Between 18 months and 2 years, they show curiosity in their environment and people. They start imitating adults and friends and recognizing themselves in mirrors. As they grow, they become interested in learning, social skills, and problem solving, helping them navigate the world around them.
At daycare we Spark their curiosity with the outdoors, walks, and sensory stimulation. We introduce them to everyday sights like trees and birds in nature, or ingredients in the kitchen. We point out colors and sing songs to boost vocabulary. A daycare setting provides a structured environment ideal for the toddler vs. preschool transition. At Playdough, teachers are patient with the ever growing changes in food preferences. We offer lots of variety in a gentle way, and encourage toddlers to explore foods with their senses.

Preschoolers
3 - 5 years
Preschoolers grow more independent and connect with adults and kids outside the family. They experience major cognitive developments like writing letters and numbers, developing humor, and solving puzzles. Physical skills emerge too, such as riding a bicycle, dressing themselves, or singing songs and poems. At Playdough we promote play and peer conversations to teach teamwork, sharing, and friendship; We play games to build social skills. Our Reggio inspired program, which encourages learning through play, as well as the arts and movement, excels at supporting this age group. Children engage in sensory exploration, STEAM activities, sports and social interactions that begin to help children learn about themselves and others. Guidance is accomplished by redirecting and setting a positive example and letting children experience natural consequences. Correction is then achieved with communication and problem-solving.
Parent' Night Out
0 - 12 years and their siblings
Let's face it, everyone needs a brake every once in a while! At Playdough Academy, parents can enjoy a night out or simply some quiet time to themselves! we will entertain the kids with fun activities, outdoor play, dinner and a movie. PNO usually takes place on a Friday Night, from 3 to 8pm. Children and their siblings can join, provided that children who have not attended before, can follow directions and behave in a manner that is respectful and kind.
